Wandermath — start with your budget. See where it can take you.

About Wandermath

Wandermath started with a real trip: two people, two weeks in the English countryside, and one stubborn question — “we have $5,000 total; what vacations are actually possible, and which is the best fit?” Every travel site wanted exact dates and a destination first, then showed one price at a time: a flight here, a hotel there, never the whole picture.

So we built the tool that does the whole-picture math. Give Wandermath a total budget, a flexible date window, the airports you can fly from, and your preferences — and it searches complete trips: flights and taxes and checked bags, lodging night by night, the rental car with its insurance and fuel, trains and transfers, a daily meals-and-activities allowance, and a contingency reserve. The number on every plan is the number the vacation costs.

The honest-math principles

  • All-in totals, always. No plan is presented without every cost category included — the things other sites let you discover at checkout are on the first screen here.
  • Every price shows its receipts. Each cost line carries its source, when it was retrieved, and a confidence level. Estimates are labeled estimates. Nothing is dressed up as a confirmed quote.
  • Over budget means over budget. If nothing fits, Wandermath says so plainly, shows the closest options and by how much they miss, and suggests what to change — it never massages a trip under the line.
  • A few meaningful choices, not 400 rows. Runs return a handful of genuinely different plans — cheapest, best value, most comfortable, best weather — with the tradeoffs between them explained in plain English.

What Wandermath is — and isn’t

Wandermath is a planning tool. It never books, reserves, holds, or pays for travel, and it never takes your payment details. When a plan looks right, it links you out to airlines and booking sites to complete things there. Some of those outbound links are affiliate links — if you book after clicking one, Wandermath may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That, plus honesty, is the whole business model.

The project is young and built in the open: any destination can be planned, calibrated price data is deepest for the places it was built around first, and elsewhere prices lean on clearly-labeled country-level estimates or sandbox data — always marked as such — with more live data sources added as the tool grows. Final prices should always be verified with the airline, property, or operator before you purchase.

Wandermath is an independent project, built and run by its founder — not a travel agency, an OTA, or anyone’s marketing department.
